A unique evening event starting at 6:00 p.m with the first group of the night ‘Expresion Inka’, with “TAHUANTINSUYO” directed by Leyli Horna; followed by London based Peruvian performer Jose Navarro, with “RITUAL SCISSORS DANCE” will be presented at ‘Theatre Peckham’, on Saturday 25th July
‘Tahuantinsuyo’ a piece of dance theatre that touches on the origins, development and fall of the Inka civilization with the arrival of the Spaniards, showing how this event altered forever the evolution of a culture, and by force changed the language and customs, achieving a mixture of expressions.
Running time: 50 minutes
'Ritual Scissors Dance' is an interpretation based on the world of one traditional Peruvian dance, and its ritualistic aspects, explored as a theatre dance performance.
From its original version, as a solo performance; this new version of the piece will vary with the inclusion of an invited artist, rearrangement of the traditional music with elements of fusion, and the use of puppetry components
